From GW8YJN

Andrew just sent these images in, they're downloaded from NOAA using an ordinary scanner and a dual band white stick - in his loft ! It just goes to show that you don't need any fancy equipment to get good pictures, just a little patience getting it all set up properly.

GOOGLE EARTH

The last time I checked, Google Earth was displaying an image of my qth that was at least seven years old. I'm delighted to discover that they have a "new" image, this one is only two years old. I can even see the children's paddling pool in the backyard.
My roof had just been replaced and work was underway next door, the shadows around the houses are scaffolding. The blob on the far left chimney is a 4 metre DDRR antenna.
So that's my odd shaped garden!

Today's weathersat image

Downloaded from NOAA18 April 4
- The line that crosses central Portugal and Spain is a result of a brief transmission on 2 metres; that will explain why I maintain radio silence during these downloads!
